HOW DO YOU LIKE THE NEW LAYOUT?
Friday, July 6, 2004
Been awhile, hasn't it? Well, to celebrate the site's first update in over half a year, I cooked up this new site layout, just for you!... And everyone else who visits this page. In any case, this new design scheme not only looks much better than the old one, but should be much easier to update, thanks to the sudden decrease in page number. Please note that a few of the old sections of the site may not be assessable for awhile, but don't worry. That will change.
You'll notice the new header at the top of the page. How do you like it? It features all the flagship Dale Johnson Productions Characters, including Ace, together (for the first time, actually). You may not recognize the character on the far right next to the pickle. That's Shadow, a new character who will be introduced in the next few months. For those of you who peek in on the projects page, he's the hero of the new Shadow Warrior series that was hinted at some time back. I think you'll get to like him.
As for The Adventures of Lizy the Lizard, all the pictures have been inked — But I've lost my paints and can't find them for the life of me! I put a chapter up anyway, though. As you can probably tell, the image was Photoshoped to make it look like the rest of the pictures. That' probably what I'm going to do and just not bother about it anymore. Maybe one day I'll make a new "Director's Cut" of the story with better images? Probably not...
And now for the fun part - Catching up on old news! Get ready for one do-dad of a rant! I've got several new GBA games over the past months! In the span between these news posts, I've collected Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Fire Emblem (Quite Possibly the best GBA game ever), Metroid: Zero Mission, and I picked up an old used copy of The Legend of Zelda: The Oracle of Ages for the Game Boy Color (Not a bad buy for $12 - Wish it had the manual).
For Christmas we (myself and my siblings) received a Nintendo GameCube. Yes, you may notice I've been a Nintendo fan seen long back. Since December I've acquired The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition (came with the thing), Bomberman Generation, Metroid Prime (used), Super Smash Bros. Melee (Words cannot describe how fun this game is. Even non-Nintendo fans need to play it at least once with a group of friends. Now they just need Isaac from Golden Sun and Captain Olimar from Pikmin as playable characters.), Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (maybe one day I'll buy some more GBA's to play multiplayer mode), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Luigi's Mansion, Star Fox Adventures (used for $9.99 — okay for the price), Pikmin, Sonic Mega Collection (new for $9.99), and Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut (also new for $9.99). I think that's all...
As for school, college is drawing to a close. I'm on break now, and hopefully I'll hammer out a (much shortened) version of the now unnamed Ace Foxworth game (the Book of Dreams plot was dropped) by the end of the month. I start up my last quarter in a couple weeks, so I'll be graduating early this Fall. And — to top it off — besides my internship, I've only got two classes! They're not the easiest, but they aren't all that hard. Well, I think I'll go enjoy myself now. If you have any comments, please get in touch with me! And tell me how you like the site! |

CHANGES IN STORE
Wednesday, July 21, 2004
First off, you'll notice that the site has a new e-mail address. From now on, please contact me via djpro_mail@hotmail.com There's a reason for this, as I'll get into now.
You'll notice that ever since I've been online, my ISP (Internet Service Provider) has been Everyone's Internet (EV1). However, I'm in the process of moving, and after we get settled in, we're looking at going with a new cable connection. (It's about time.) This means that EV1 will no longer be my ISP, which in turn means I'll loose my e-mail account and this web space. I am currently scouting out a new host, possibly a .com address. I'll update you when the site gets moved. |

WELCOME TO WWW.DMAJOHNSON.COM/DJPRO
Friday, August 21, 2004
Welcome to the latest location of Dale Johnson Productions. Thanks to the fact that I'm no longer up on free webspace, I can look into exciting new possibilities for the site. A new forum may just be the first thing on the list...
In any case, if you have any comments, address them to mail@dmajohnson.com. |

I ARE EDUCATED!
Friday, November 12, 2004
And you thought I'd never update! Well, I have to admit, I was wondering about it myself... But that's all in the past. As of September 24, 2004, after over two years of non-stop study, I am a college graduate possesing an Associate of Applied Science in Animation Art and Design. That's right. I spent over two years of my life in college and all I got was this lousy piece of paper. Now excuse me why I frame said lousy piece of paper.
Seriously, though, with college behind me, I can focus on my career, and this site! You heard right, I assure you. I have a lot of plans for this site, including section about some of my hobbies, and a gallery of my video game CD soundtrack collection. But for now, I just added a rules page for the forums and a news archive. Not sure what will happen to the Ace Foxworth game. I recently moved and lost my programming notes. Without the notes, the game engine is hard to work on because I did a sloppy job.
Well, that's it for now. And before you go to sleep at night, make sure you preorder your Nintendo DS. Drop by the forums and say "Hi!"

THE NEW ONLINE COMIC IS UP
Friday, December 10, 2004
Well, would you look at that? Another update, and within a month of the last one, too! Now that I finally have more time to work on this site, I finally got my new online comic started up.
Looking at online comics these days, most are based around crude, cliché humor and images ripped off Google. So I decided to do something a little different. I've always wanted to do a web comic that everyone can enjoy, and I hope that "The Shadow Warrior" brings in a new audience that most online comics don't reach.
By the way, I'm always open to comments and critiques concerning my work. Just drop me an E-mail, or visit the forums. Merry Chistmas everyone!

AN UPDATE ON FOXWORTH
Saturday, December 11, 2004
What do ya' know? Two updates in a row on back-to-back days. I do believe that's a first. To begin with, the next page of Shadow Warrior is up, so go check that out.
Now, on to the meat of things. You may recall that the Ace Foxworth game has been on an extended "no release" tour after missing its March 2004 release date. Well, I'm going to try this again. I can't promise anything, but the game (or what's left of it), should make it in time for March/April 2005. I'll have more information and a confirmation of this (if it's a go) early next year. Then I can finally move on to something new. After programing the Foxworth engine, I know many things not to do.

THE UPDATE FLURRY EXPLAINED
Monday, December 13, 2004
The Shadow Warrior comic has again been updated. You may wonder what's up with the constant updates. Well, the idea is to get as many early pages up to hook people into staying. You can't do that without a story. Page three is where stuff really begins, and it will continue throughout the rest of this "chapter." After the story progresses a bit, I'll ease down to a weekly update scheduele, or something akin to it.
Don't be afraid to stop by the forums, or to E-mail me comments telling me what you think of each individual page.

A NEW DOWNLOADS SECTION ADDED
Friday, December 17, 2004
I'm certainly making up for this year's lack of news! There's no Shadow Warrior comic for today, but there should be one up Saturday afternoon, so check back then.
Anyhow, once upon a time this site had a downloads section. But then the evil wizard "Laziness" came and took it away! But now that Laziness has been conquered - Or rather, appeased - The downloads section has made a return, it seems. Just click on the link on the navigation bar to find a collection of avatars and AIM icons. Hopefully a wallpaper will make its way back, too, but first we have to rescue it from the wizard.
