THE LIZVENTURE - PAGE 3 |
"How grand!" exclaimed Speedy in agreement, "That's what I would have chosen! Huh? What's that? Why Lizy, did you know that your tail is stuck in a lawn chair?" "Not really," sighed Lizy. "Oh," said Speedy, "Well, anyhow, Chubby and Bob should already be headed for the castle now, too, so I think I'll join you. We'll meet them on the back side of the castle. Let's go!" Speedy and Lizy (who had finally succeeded in prying the lawn chair off his tail) set out across the wheat fields towards the mines. It was early fall and the wheat was tall and yellow and nearly ready for the harvest. "Oh my," said Lizy after quite a long time, "Haven't we passed that stock of wheat three times now?" "I do believe you're right," agreed Speedy, "Why, this is more frustrating than trying to free a fox from a keyhole! Where's Bob when you need him? He's got all the compasses!" But, while Lizy and Speedy were examining their current predicament, they failed to notice that...
...Creul's troops were heading right towards them.
