THE LIZVENTURE - PAGE 21 |
And Lizy did just that. He went on for some time and began to remember the details of the route he had chosen and went on enjoying the scenery. After awhile, the area began to become somewhat swampy, though the road remained quite dry. "I'm nearing Lake Lizard," thought Lizy, "Up ahead should be a dock where I can rent a boat and cross the lake and then from there I can go around Lizard City and up to Mt. Lizard and the castle to save the King!" He was quite right, for within a minute or two he came to the west shore of Mt. Lizard and there was a dock near at hand. The dock-keep there was more than joyful to rent a boat to Lizy, in fact he gave it to him free of change and wished Lizy good luck in his quest. The boat was a row boat, and a sturdy little vessel for crossing the often calm body of water. Lizy took up the paddle and began to row. The day was quite clear and the sun was signing brightly. Lizy enjoyed it thoroughly and began to whistle as he rowed. But, about halfway through the trek, something completely unexpected happened, ...
...Lizy noticed his boat had a leak and had already taken in a large amount of water!
