"That does complicate things a bit, doesn't it," said Lizy. "But we must find a way through! The Valley is in great peril, and we are it's only hope!" Lizy rushed forward as Bob followed behind trying to stop him.

"Lizy! Lizy!" cried Bob aloud, "We mustn't. We might get... scared. No, wait. I'm already scared."

But Lizy had no time at all for this nonsense. For one thing, there was a huge flame with eyes and tennis shoes standing in his way!

"Now look here, hothead!" demanded Lizy the Lizard, "You'd better shape up and out before I have your head!"

"What head?" asked Bob shaking all over.

"Oh, never mind that!" said Lizy. "It's not moving so we'd best take it head on. Bob, my sword!"

"We?" asked Bob frantically. After that, he fainted!

"Oh bother," said Lizy holding his head in his hand, "This isn't going to be as easy as I thought." He dug through Bob's back pack and got out his sword.

"Stand aside!" demanded Lizy as he slashed at the hothead. But it was no use. His sword went right through the flame without doing a thing (besides perhaps making it even more angry).

"Oh, good grief!" exclaimed Lizy, "I forgot about that. Now, where's my TechPack?" He started digging through Bob's backpack to look for the technological wonder that Lizy and his friends used every now and then.

"Here it is!" said Lizy after awhile. He put on his TechPack and raised his arms in the air to engage an ice attack. It spluttered and buzzed a minute, but nothing helpful happened.

"Oh bother!" said Lizy, "The batteries are dead!" He went back through Bob's pack, but didn't find any. But that was okay. By that time the hothead had fallen asleep of boredom.
