"It seems too quiet here," he thought, "I should be very careful! Cruel might be waiting for me with one of his tricks!"

He went on awhile further and came to a big mess: There was rotting fruit all over the place and the stone and wood on some of the building seemed a bit over-weathered.

"There must have been a riot when Cruel's troops came through," Lizy decided, "Everyone must be in big trouble! Oh dear, Lizy, what will you do! Wait, what's that noise?"

Lizy made his way towards what sounded like the roaring of a crowd. When he got there he found all kinds of lizards and much of Cruel's army in a circle. They had gathered around Chubby, who held a bow laced with an arrow aimed for an apple upon the highly nervous Bob's head. And there were all kinds of vendors making their way around the crowd!

You see, when Speedy got back to Lizard City to round up Bob and Chubby, Cruel's troops had just come down from Mt. Lizard and the citizens of Lizard City had revolted. Seeing that Cruel's troops were getting the upper hand, Speedy challenged the Mean (the Means were Cruel's top henchmen).

If Chubby were to hit an apple placed atop Bob's head, Lizard City would be freed, but if he missed, Lizard City would surrender without a fight.

Lizy noticed right away two things were not right with this picture: 1) Chubby was a good shot, but not all that good, and 2) Bob was about to faint, and if he did, the apple would fall and Chubby wouldn't even have a chance.
